    Hello,

    Be nice with me I’m a newbie at wordpress.

    I am trying to get the images to work in the slider but they don’t show up. ( http://flowergirlstudio.ca/newsite/ ) Does anyone knows what I am doing wrong or can anyone tell me how I am supposed to do so my images shows up?

    Also, I would like the slider to be 1140×675 is this possible?
    I have tried this

    #slider .wp-post-image,
    #slider .entry-attachment {
    max-width:1140px;
    max-height:675px;
    overflow:hidden; }

    But it doesn’t seem like it works OR I have no idea where to put the code!

    Help!?

    thank you!!

    I’d also like to know how to change size of slider images. I currently have one that shows up HUGE and another that is extremely fuzzy and mostly hidden behind the grid for some reason.

    I tried messing with photo settings under “Add Feature Image”, but that did nothing. At least what I tried didn’t, as there are several options. Where did you try entering the dimensions you listed? Is there a place to work on “slider” images specifically that you know of?

    Here’s another thread with the same question. http://www.onedesigns.com/support/topic/slider-size

    From this I can tell the information you entered was in the CSS. I’ve yet to mess with the CSS, so this is all new to me. πŸ˜‰

    Anyway, maybe the thread will be helpful to us both.

    Jiffer: thanks! I saw the tread already and tried what it said: nothing worked. Unless. I have no idea where i’m sussposed to find/add the css. I’m still trying though! πŸ™‚ If anything works for me i’ll keep you posted!

    CSS is in THEME OPTIONS>LAYOUT at the bottom. There’s a field that says Custom CSS and Enter your custom CSS. I’ve been messing with different dimensions, using % instead of pixels because it works better for my brain. I see changes when I do it, but I’m still not happy with how it’s turning out. I think I need to start with a different picture size. It seems the photo for the slider should actually be cropped to be wide, with a smaller height than the featured image displayed in the grid. Do you know if there’s a way to crop one for the slider while leaving the one in the grid alone?

    There’s so much to learn and explore, it can be overwhelming. Yet it’s fun to see something actually work that you finally figured out. πŸ˜‰

    Anyway, if you haven’t been entering your CSS code in the right place, you should be able to do it now. Somehow the semi-colons disappeared when I made a change once and my slider photo didn’t change at all. So make sure your entry mimics exactly what others posted they use, while messing with the numbers in the dimensions to suit you.

    Good luck!

    I just saw the “Edit CSS” link under “Appearance”. Maybe that’s what you were using, which seems like it would work fine, but what do I know?! Interesting that there are two places. It seems that the information I put in the other CSS location would appear here as well, but it does not.

    hmmm. I’ve tried everything you said and still doesn’t work. This is very weird!

    But under “Appearance” I cannot see any “Edit CSS”.. hm?

    I wonder if you have a different version than me. I just downloaded it a few days ago. It’s 1.0.8.

    My options under Appearance are:

    Themes
    Widgets
    Menus
    Theme Options
    Edit CSS
    Header
    Background
    Editor

    You know what? I think there was already an update to the Pinboard theme that I downloaded yesterday. If you click on Dashboard, under that mine says:

    Home
    Updates

    Yesterday I noticed a red 1 next to “Updates” and clicked on it. And under themes it said there was an update. Maybe try that.

    1.0.8? Mine says “You are using WordPress 3.5.1.”

    Well then that makes no sense. I also have WordPress 3.5.1, so they should look the same. I don’t get it.

    Now I turned off my slider option and I’m trying to figure out how to have one sticky post that is larger than the rest, which I’ve seen on someone else’s Pinboard blog. http://www.morethanbirds.org Maybe I should just go there and contact them and ask.

    By the way, have you seen the thread with the tons of links to other’s Pinboard sites? They provide a lot of ideas on changes you can make. http://www.onedesigns.com/support/topic/show-off-your-site

    Oo! I figured out how to make a post bigger than the others in the grid. Let me know if you want to know. πŸ˜‰

    It’s so exciting to figures these little things out. I had to go declare to my daughter that I figured it out! It’s amazing what a google search will reveal sometimes.
