Header, sidebar top, sidebar left, sidebar right, sidebar bottom, and footer all appear to have no widgets installed. However my blog actually seems to have search in the header or sidebar top. RSS in the header (i guess). In the sidebar right: categories, archives, blogroll and recent comments. In the footer: Most commented, recent articles and tag cloud. (Sidenote: recent articles seems kind of redundent as it seems to be the same thing as “latast” right above it).

Again though none of these widgets seem to actually be installed. All the boxes on the right hand side of the control panel screen where it says to drag the widgets to activate them are empty.

Are these certain widgets just defaults for the theme that cannot be removed or edited or do I have a bug or misconfiguration? If I actually drag the widgets over to turn them on then I get duplicates! Dragging them back to deactivate leaves me only one.

I would like to be able to at least configure them without getting duplicates but I don’t seem to be able to. I’d like to remove recent articles since it seems to be totally redundant. Ideally I’d like full control.

There are 4 widgetable areas in the sidebar, each being given some default static content. Upon selecting a widget for that area the static content disappears. It is currently the only way of doing that, unless you want tot delete them from the code directly.

What I’ve been finding is that the static content does not disappear if I start selecting my own widgets. What happens is I’ll get duplicates if one of them is already there. If I remove everything I still remain with all the defaults. Or did I misunderstand your comments.

Can you place a screenshot please? Such behavior shouldn’t happen.
