Sticky Slider pictures not shrinking in grid

Hi, I apologize if this is a silly question, but I can’t seem to figure this out. I am new to wordpress and I am just setting up a blog. The problem is that the images that I have in the sticky slider at the top are not shrinking down in the grid below. They look like they are just being cropped to fit.
