Hi,
I really need to be able to only show certain category posts on certain pages. Kind of like using the blog template on a page but that then shows a category of my choice. Any ideas?
thanks,
Chris
Can i copy the blog template and change a certain part to display a particular category so that then i can select the template for the page?
Chris, it’s way simpler than that. From the WP Dashboard, under Appearance>Menus, there is an option to add any category you use directly do the menu. WordPress does all the legwork for you.
Hi DanimalXC, thanks for that. But how would you relate the menu onto a page? Sorry for being a little think, new to wordpress.
thanks again, i appreciate your input. π
Hey Chris. I’m not sure what you’re asking. To enable the menu that you create via WP Dashboard > Appearance > Menus, you need to designate it as your primary menu. At Appearance > Menus, look at the “Theme Locations” box in the top left. Select the menu from the drop down list and click “Save.” That should automatically put the menu on all the pages you want. Good luck!
Hi Danimal, I see what you mean. Its all working beautifully now. Thank you so much for your help! Now to start blogging! π
