Ok so Im a first time Word press user, I havent really got much of an idea of what I’m doing tbd, but I thought things would be pretty simple, Ive used a CMS programme once before.I downloaded and am trying to use the Pinboard theme, which seems pretty good and looks amazing so well done on that ..
Im trying to upload a header image, firstly having an awful time with WordPress uploading images to start with, but i now have a work round of FTP ing them and using a plug in to get them into my library.
Ive managed to upload now 3 images all different sizes … after reading so many different answers on this its hard to know what size to use,
none of them display.. There all RGB JPEG images.
if I use the crop function the image just shows as a ? and if i use the publish without cropping it says image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.Im beginning to loose faith with this , have now spent nearly 2 days sitting here reading trying to work things out. Im its just not happening for me.
Have even uploaded latest version etc etc …
I dodnt really understand code and have seen lots of people posting about adding code but i cant see where or how.One guy’s post i read showed his site here http://scottgohphotography.com.au/blog/

Hi richpeart,
You can upload your header image at ‘Appearance/Header’. There also is a recommendation of the image size from the author of the theme. If the WordPress upload couldn’t process your image, try to take a random one from somewhere else on the internet and see if that works.
To start with WordPress/Pinboard doesn’t need the knowledge of code or FTP uploading.

Im still stuck , have tried numerous things, now including different images and have created my header the same as the size suggested 196 x 48.I go to Appearance header add the image which is in my WP content file and all is says is image could not be processed try again , which is do and go round in circles.
I have tried both cropping and not cropping and have tried Word Press versions 3.4.2 as I had the latest version which someone told me was a bit buggy . Still nothing….
And I still cannot add images within the control panel I still have to FTP them in and use a add from server plug in .
Have spent a long time trying to creat this site now and have got literally no where .
lost complete faith in this theme and in WP in general . I appreciate its probably something im doing wrong but its obviously not as simple as most would think .Probs just go back to CMS made simple which I used to use =(
This is obviously too technical for someone like me
