When people browse to my blog (usually after navigating a few pages deep) in IE, sometimes the featured images do not load at all. This can be seen when viewing the second page of my blog and onwards. It is a very intermittent problem so do browse back and forwards to recreate issue.
What confuses the issue more is refreshing the page a few times usually fixes the problem.
I have compressed the images and have it running off a CDN, but was wondering whether there was timeout configured before the images failed to load?

Anyone else had this issue for ‘Featured Images’ of blog posts? I think I’ve realised it’s something to do with image resizing issues because I get this issue when running off a local server.
One example is a 586×700 png file, which I’ve selected for the feature image. On my blog page, the featured image tries to load a 586×300 version of the image (probably courtesy of Tim Thumb) but fails to do so because Tim Thumb hasn’t created it. Really appreciate thoughts because I’ve been resizing images to try and get round the issue!
Correct – a 586×300 version *has* been created but just isn’t loaded. The problem can be recreated if you refresh this blog page a few times (and then Featured Image is replaced by a dead image link in IE).
I have this problem too… I would love to know the solution as well. I also have problem in Chrome with text cut off, etc.
Dan – any chance you could take a quick look at this please? Basically load this blog page and then hit refresh and you’ll notice my feature images disappear! Only happens in IE. Would really appreciate thoughts.
Same issue here too. Think it might have something to do with the resize thumbnail plugin. Only seems to happen on posts using scaled images. Hope that helps.
Same problem with my little blog, http://ahomeforabby.com/bark-about-it/ and the others I’ve created. It’s the parent page, not layers deep.
I doubt that site visitors will want to refresh the page several times in hopes that the images will appear. They’ll just figure the website designer doesn’t know what they’re doing. 🙁
