Tagline in "Wide" widget area not showing like demo

Hello everyone!

I am attempting to create the tagline for my website like it is showing in the demo. I have read that this is actually text in the “Wide” widget area, but I can’t get it to have the gray bar behind it and have the font show like the demo.

I would sure appreciate any help you all can give. Also, some documentation from one. would be really helpful when the functionality of the theme demo is not intuitive.
