Pinboard: Where to add a website meta description

    First of all thank you for creating such a gorgeous theme … I’m simply in love!

    I’m not the most tech savvy. Was concerned about how my website description would show up in the search engine results. Wondering where to put my site’s meta description in the Pinboard theme.

    You can use a plugin like WordPress SEO by Yoast.

    Thanks Daniel for responding. I already have that plugin installed and its great for adding a meta description for posts but I have yet to find out how to create a meta description for my site … so that when someone searches for “Gotta Love Chocolate” the search results show: gottalovechocolate.com with a “description” of the site. Does this make sense?

    If you have the plugin installed then go to SEO > Titles and Metas and click the Home tab; there you’ll be able to enter a description for the home page. It’s not guaranteed though it will appear in search results as search engines use the searched keywords to generate an excerpt for the page.

    Thanks ever so much. I was confused by Yoast’s term “meta description template.” As you’ve suggested, I placed my description in that box and we will see what happens. Again thank you!
