Index post format not the same as individual posts?

I removed the excerpt feature so that my blog posts show in full on my home page. The problem is, for some reason the format isn’t as nice on the home page as on the individual blog post page. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I have already changed the typography in the the theme options, so that the default font size is the same everywhere (it used to be smaller on my home page). But it doesn’t fix the problem of no space showing between text and pictures. It’s like the text is all squished against my pictures when I view it on the home page. I have to add double the <br> and <p> tags between each paragraph and image for it to load like it should on the homepage, which then creates to opposite problem of it being too spaced out when loaded through the individual blog post page.

What to do?
