I changed my homepage to static, then decided to go back to how the demo looks. I changed it in the customize section to current posts, but the slider doesn’t show up like on the demo. What am I not doing? Also when you tag a post as “sticky” where exactly do you do that?

Thank you. Can you tell me how I can get that slightly darker strip right below the slider. In your demo it has text that says Just another beautiful word press theme. I would like the same strip but with no text, so there is more of a clear separation from the slider and the posts below.
