I don’t understand the part “it always reloads the page I am currently on and never goes to the page I’ve set for it to go”. Does it reload the post editor? If so, that is normal behavior when you edit a post and you need to click the “View Post” link to preview the post. If it’s the post page that’s redirecting then that’s most likely caused by a plugin. Try deactivating them one-by-one and see which is causing the redirect.
