Which is the optimum size for the slider images??

I would like to know which is the optimum size for the images on a four images slider.

I have seen from the demo one that tha images are 410px hight but I am not sure how width should they have to be.

The dimensions are 600×400 but on upload images are automatically resized and croped images to the slider’s dimensions.

I actually uploaded a photo testing the theme (as I’m trying set it up now and I’m really confused, but the image didn’t automatically resize and crop) original image was 4288×2848, stayed that big 🙁

any help would be great.
