Help with the slider options

By default, the slider is set to work on the “Home” page.
On setting a static front page as the default “Home” page, Minimatica doesn’t recognize that. How do I change that?
How would I make a static page use the “gallery” view as default?

I know this isn’t the same, but here’s my way of getting around the slider home page–I used the slider to represent four categories which lead to gallery pages. You can see what I mean [url=http://gregaitkenheadphotography.com]here[/url].
