Hi! I’m new to WordPress and love Minimatica! I’d like to create a gallery like you see on the home page, on other pages as well. How do I create different pages with a unique gallery in each, for categories such as logos, brochures, advertisements etc. You can see what I’ve done so far at http://www.grafixsites.org.

    Thanks!

P.S. keep in mind that I’m a newbie to WP and don’t even know the difference between a menu, a category and a page!

I went and looked at your site. Do you have the “gallery” button picked on the posts that you use for the home page slider panels? If you do then creating a gallery should just be a matter of uploading images (when you’re editing your post you go to the bottom right of the edit screen, click “featured image,” upload your shots, logos, etc., change titles, etc., and then save. Does that do it?

My Minimatica themed site is here, if you want to see what I’ve done with my photography portfolio.

Hi! Thanks for your response. That’s exactly how I did it, however you can see that my pages ended up with random large and small images and thumbnails. I love how your site looks and how the portfolio came out and I’m hoping to have the images I uploaded into my posts display similarly to yours. (Tiled with a flash portfolio).

Any suggestions as to what I may have done wrong?

Oh, I see. I had that happen at first, but then I figured out that when you’re uploading images into your gallery you have to finish by clicking “save changes,” in the popup and then “update” on the main post page. Don’t click “insert in post” or, I believe, “insert gallery.” Just save changes and when the screen changes, close the window and update.

Nice site, by the way. Also, if you head to my site again would you mind signing up for the email list. I’m putting together a newsletter.

    Hope that helps.

Elissa–I also noticed that when I navigate to a page from your slider I can’t return to your home page by clicking on your blog’s title. If you want that feature I think you just need to enter your URL in Settings>>General>>WordPress Address.

Thanks for the help! I got it…..mostly. I now have my gallery in there without the duplicates, but do you have any idea why the images show up different sizes, and the flash gallery keeps resizing with each picture?

    see here…www.grafixsites.org

Also, Any idea why my comments in the posts show up at the bottom of the gallery instead of the top?

Also not sure what you mean by clicking on the blog title not taking you back. I checked the URL in Settings>>General>>WordPress Address, and it’s there. Boy, this learning curve can be tricky! I’ll sign up for your email now….

    Thanks!!!

I’m actually very new at this, so I learned a lot from reading the forums. For the logo I went to Appearance > Header and I created and uploaded an image with my logo, based on the size they indicated.

I can’t remember what I did to get my blog title to hook up with the home page. Hmmm. Old age setting in. Anybody else able to help?
