Removed Navigation Buttons from the Homepage, How do I add them to categories on

I have remarked out #nav-slider in the style.css to give a static look to the Home Page. (A bit brutal as this removes the next/previous buttons through out the site.) I was wondering if there was a way to change the coding to add the buttons back into category views only. Has anyone did this yet?

As I am looking at setting each of the homepage posts to redirect to specific category that will make use of the navigation buttons.
