How can I make the social icons open in a new window. I would rather not take people off my site for external links.
Also.. any plans to add youtube to that list? Currently, in my sandbox, I use the video link for youtube but the icon might confuse visitors…
Dig the theme .. very nicely done.
You can find those links in sidebar-header.php, just add the attribute target=”_blank” to the links. This is considered a usability issue and will not be added to the theme by default, nor as an option.
More social media icons are planned, among them YouTube.
Hi Daniel, i saw talks about new social buttons and decide to write here. Add please social icon to russian social network vk.com. (vkontakte). If you need – i can send you nice and quality icons of it.
Btw if there any way to customize icons which is already include it theme(flickr for example) – if it possible – tell me how can i upload new icon(change flickr icon to vk.com). Thanks!

I have a question about this topic.
I changed the codes of the social icons in the file sidebar-header.php, as explained hereabove, but when I want to upload them again with FileZilla to my website, it doesn’t succeed 🙁 It’s said : permission denied, can’t open the file.Can somebody help me please ?

I’m stuck at the ‘redirecting’ of the social media icons to a blank page… What am I doing wrong, because the mentioned solutions don’t work for me…

Thank you for your help.
I did change the settings in the sidebar-header.php file in the content of my pinboard theme, but when I want to reload (upload) the file to my website with ftp (I use fileZilla), then I don’t succeed :-(. I always get the notification : 553 Can’t open the file : permission deniedDo you know what goes wrong ?

This is a permissions issue on your server. If you’re logging in as the owner, you should be able to write your files to the server.
You could either try to change the permissions on your directory (in FZ, right-click on WordPress folder and choose File Permissions, change Owner Permissions to Read/Write) or contact your web host.
