Adsense between posts, similar to a particuolar site

I would love to be able to put some Adsense between posts on the index page, as well as a paragraph next to the ads…similar to what this site has: http://www.womenonbusiness.com , after the second post.

I found the loop, and I am able to put in the Adsense code and a paragraph. But I cannot get the two to line up next to each other, horizontally.

This is what I have tried:

just before , I put in:

ADSENSE CODE
paragraph…blah…blah..blah…

I tried placing another within this code to incorporate my paragraph, but things just didn’t line up (such as two side by side within one main post).

So…does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this to work ?
