I have just solved this. I found a plug-in called “Hide featured image”. It does exactly what I want. It hides the featured image when looking at the full post but this theme still sees it for the slider and the thumbnail/snippets. Now I will define the featured image and also insert the same image to the beginning of my post and it will show everywhere I want it to and only once everywhere. Works great…….Jackie
