I must be missing something, the images I use for ‘featured image’ are at least 900 pixels wide – but yet they still show slightly distorted;

I really wish I could use ‘gallery’ instead of ‘standard’ to link the thumbnail image to the actual post (when I use gallery it links to the image). Would there be a way to accomplish that?
