Is it possible to create a new page and don’t allow it to appear in the menu/submenu?
I’ve been trying without success… Help me please.
tejaeParticipanti was able to add a page, password protect the page and NOT add it to the menu. so it’s not showing up in the menu.
alemelloParticipantThanks, Tejae.
Ok, I got it, but what if I navigate to it, using a link in a page? Will it work? Or the visitor will be asked to input the password?
AlexanderParticipantHi alemello,
I’m not sure if I understand the problem as a page never appears at the menu without adding it manually.
Cheers,
Alexander @ http://www.mouseclick.comalemelloParticipantAlexander, no. I want to create some pages without showing them in menu. It’s a list of people, like mini resumés. I need to create a page for each person, without showing them in the menu. The links to these pages will appear in a “directory” page. If we let them appear in menu, it’s going to be a huge menu, and we don’t want this.
Got it?
And thanks for all help you’re offering me. I’m almost changing the theme due to this.AlexanderParticipantHi alemello,
Than go ahead and create the pages. As I said before, these pages will never appear in the menu by themself, so you can add another page for the ‘directory’ (which also will not be seen in the menu without putting it there manually).
Do you have an example to look into?
Cheers,
Alexander @ http://www.mouseclick.comalemelloParticipantHi. I tried, but couldn’t make it. As soon as I create the page it goes to Menu Bar. The best I could do is hang them under another menu entry. The website is http://www.ciencia.art.br (Scientific Illustrators in Brazil).
Check under Ilustradores, I don’t want to show all those names. I’m planning to create some categories and put the links to those people (me included) in a introduction page. Not in submenus, as they’re appearing.
If I create a menu, using that MENU tool in Appearance, I’ll be able to manage this?TorontoBoyParticipantAlemello, if you use the standard menu then yes, when you add a page it will show up on the nav bar automatically, and I have found no way of preventing this. If, however you create a custom menu then you specifically add either a category, post, page, URL to the nav bar.
Look under Appearance, then Menu. Create a custom menu and then you drag and drop items into the nav bar menu, as well as nest them. After you do this, as Alexander says, a page can only be added to your nav bar only when you do this yourself manually.
