I am having a hell of time with this — and feel really really dumb. I have read all the posts here but still can’t get a single picture on the slider on the homepage. Daniel, can you please write very specific instructions on how to do so? (I looked everywhere for this and can’t find it — I apologize if I’m not looking in the right place.)

    Thanks

Took this off the main site:

    Post Thumbnails
The theme uses the theme post thumbnail feature to turn each post into a photography showcase. The gallery slider uses post thumbnails to display the image galleries and a featured image can be set for each post. This is useful even if you are not a photographer and have for example a travel blog.

Hopefully that helps. You need to put a pic in the “featured image” spot for it to show up in the slider.

I’m selecting a photo with the featured image box on the bottom right hand side of the Post page, and when I finish selecting my photo in the pop up and go back to the Post page, the Featured Image box doesn’t display anything indicating that I selected a featured image. The image does not show up on the home page. It just has the same “set a featured image” link as before. What is going wrong?

Okay, now I can get an image to show in the Set Featured Image section of the Post page, but it still isn’t showing up on the home page…

I have the same problem. Couldnt anyone just do a simple pictures guide step by step for dummies like me. It would be fantastic and im sure that it would save a lot of support for you guys. πŸ™‚

    I’m having the same problem.

Are you guys uploading images, or using URL:s? I’m using the latter, and thought maybe that’s the problem (having major problems with media uploads atm)

I first create a post with title that is featured in the slider on the home page. Then I go to media and upload the pictures. After this I attach the pictures to the post, still in the media tab. Then I go back to the post and set a featured image by selecting a image from the gallery which contains the attached pictures.

Hope this helps and this works for me

I’m uploading the images. I really hope I can get this resolved or else I’ll have to go with a new theme. πŸ™ Sad because I really like this one.

i tried out the advice on this page for placing photos on the slider home page- and it worked. hang in there everyone. it took a few attempts, but it can happen. my issue now is getting the photos to appear fully on the home page. all the photos are cut off, until i move the mouse over them to expand on the info. i did resize all of them and thought that would resolve the issue. any advice on how to make the photos appear uniformly on the main page?

I would really LOVE to use this theme, but I can not get the images to show up on the homepage slider. I have created a post. The format is gallery (I have tried them all and none of then show image). I have gone in the bottom right and selected “choose feature image” I then upload my feature image and then click “use as feature image” I then save changes on my post. Still no image in slider. What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I am missing??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

amongstit, did you get this sorted? Here is what I do to have posts images show up in the home page slider.

First, go to Appearance -> Theme Options, and under Home Page View choose Gallery.

Second, when editing your post, under Format choose Standard (there are heaps of options that I have not explored yet, but I know this one works beautifully!).

Third, when editing your post, upload your chosen image under Featured Image.

This worked for me, so I hope I have done it properly and it will work for you too.
