Adding google plus one, facebook, twitter share for home page

Hi I have managed to add plugin to show share buttons on individual posts, but would like google plus one, facebook, twitter like buttons to appear on the home page so people can “like” the site.

There are codes around the net one can find and insert to home.php, but no matter where I place the codes, they are always on the left side of the page.

Could someone tell me how to move the buttons to a specific location (e.g. always on top of the site, or at the foot of the site) while inserting the codes?
