Having trouble with audio posts and playing them on the front page. Maybe I’m just not doing the post right.
I basically want the same functionality as the Demo version, but I’m having two problems. First, when I link to a URL (in my case its Kiwi6) the audio isnt loading even though I can play it at Kiwi6. Second, when I do insert it into a post, there is a link to it in the post, but in the demo version there is not. I’m wondering what I’m missing.
Thanks for the help!
RedBoneGypsyParticipantI’m hoping to hear the response as I am having problems as well. I’ve created a new post, designated it as an audio post. Used media feature to upload mp3 file. After I published, i am able to see the audio “play” bar only for a second as the page downloads and then it disappears into just a black line. I’d like it to operate as the demo does as well.
spogueParticipantRedBone (or anyone else!) – I can’t help you on that, but maybe you can help me with this. I’m a noob at this and when I make an audio post, I’m not even seeing the audio player like in the demo. Do I need to download the plugin for the player and the skin?
RedBoneGypsyParticipantAll I can tell you is how I added my audio to a post. After that, the audio player bar only appears for a brief second then simply goes blank. You can listen to the audio in the post but it brings you to another page where it downloads.
While in a post, I select the Media icon and upload a mp3 file. Once uploaded, I then select the file to be inserted in the post. Then I save the post. I hadn’t downloaded any plugin prior. Afterwards, with it not working properly, I added a plugin for audio but nothing improved.

joostParticipantI work around this by using the JW Player plugin. Let’s you embed audio and video through this plugin instead of the standard procedure – which gave me trouble too. Works like a song, at least for mp4 video and mp3 audio. Hope this is of any help.
falkynnParticipantI was having the same problem, and after digging into the source, I’ve gotten mine to work as I wanted.
When you click on the “Add Media” button and select an mp3 or whatever, an attachment details section appears at the right. Under “Attachment Display Settings,” make sure you have it set to link to the Media File.
Mine was set to Attachment Page (not sure if this is the default or if I changed it some time and forgot) and that sets it to display as a link instead of as in-line audio. I assume the same would be true for videos.
RedBoneGypsyParticipantBy changing to “link to media file” it worked but ONLY in Safari. It does not work in Firefox and I don’t have access to IE. Is there a way to fix this for Firefox?
