Columns & Rows

Hi There

I am just getting started with the Enlightenment theme and am following how to set up my homepage exactly like the demo homepage.

All was working as per the instructions until I got to the slider and the text, that is only supposed to cover half the screen as I have set the columns to 6. However this is not working and the test covers across the whole screen?

And the “default” button appears not to be transparent as suggested on the demo page and has a white background instead?

Can anyone help? Many thanks.

Here is my code for one of the three pages to be used in the slider – each had the similar as I am setting up the site as a test:
