Content display issues for statis "posts page"

Hi, thank you so much for quite the EPIC theme! I’m still wrapping my head around things and currently have a problem.

I’ve created a brand new page labeled Blog. I’ve written some text using header 3, and everything else is stock.

I then assign this page as my posts page. However when I do this and view the link, or the page, all content is missing. Furthermore, if I were to add some sidebars that I created for the homepage, they do not show up either.
