Creating/Inserting a Favicon

Does anybody know how to create/insert a favicon into the Pinboard theme?

I have tried using Faviconer.com and have a line of code for the favicon I created but really don’t understand where to insert it or if it needs anything else in the code. The code is: <link href=”favicon.ico” rel=”shortcut icon” type=”image/x-icon” />
