Esplanade- Sidebars- embed images in text?; can Editors access Sidebar text?

My site is ledyardcongregational.org. Please look at the Home page.

Question 1- I need the site’s users with Editor permission to have access to the paragraphs currently in my Sidebar (home page), but it looks like there’s no way. Is there?

So I thought of swapping all the paragraphs in the Content area with those in the Sidebar. That would work fine IF I could bring the formatting like Bold and the images into the sidebar, too. So:

Question 2- On the static home page, I’d like the sidebar to be attractively formatted and with images embedded in the textual area. It looks like there’s no way.

Do I need to entirely switch Themes because of this?
