Excess Padding Around Post Thumbnails

I’m working with the “Portfolio” category option, using the “standard” layout. I have 2 full posts displayed before the grid.

There is a lot of white padding (over a quarter inch) displaying around the thumbnail photos. Is there a way to reduce or eliminate the white space? The white area around the post title is fine, I only need to remove the white padding around the thumbnail photo. πŸ™‚

    Thanks!

Just to be clear: the excess padding only appears around the 2 full posts displayed before the grid. The other “portfolio” posts in the grid look great (no padding around the image, with a white title bar). πŸ™‚

They are probably of incorrect size, try rebuilding the thumbnails with this plugin.

What are the size regulations for thumbnails? I’m a graphic designer, so I can create thumbs at exact specifications.

The thumbnails for the 2 posts before the grid display differently than those in the grid: 1.) The title bar appears on the left of the photo instead of below; and 2.) a 1/4″ white border appears around the whole thing (title bar and thumbnail)

The padding looks like a css default, not a thumbnail glitch.

Here’s a screenshot, so you can see what I mean: http://www.flickr.com/photos/holmberg/12818896433/

I’m building the site locally, so I can’t send a direct link.

I see now what you mean. The thumbnails are of correct proportions actually. That layout appears because you are using the Full Width layout, as you can see it here.

    Okay . . . so there’s no custom code to reduce the border? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

You can use a layout with a sidebar but that’s it.
