    Hi guys,

I changed something on my pages which might be helpful to others too: How to add a link to an automatic excerpt. Clueless? No Problem: I’m talking about the three dots “…” at the end of each posting on the blog page. Therefore I added a tutorial to my blog for you:

I hope you’ll like the tutorial and it will be helpful for you.

    Cheers,

Thank you, thank you! I did have to change it a bit because the excerpts on your website didn’t transfer to the editor correctly (it added a space and put the wrong quotes in), but I was able to make it work. Thank you for all the work you’ve been doing, Alexander. It’s very much appreciated.

Thanks for your kind words. I have no benefit from writing this stuff than helping you and others. πŸ™‚ Also please bear with me when the grammar is a mess but belive me: every day I’m trying to be less of a mess and finally english isn’t my mother tongue at all.

Are you saying that there is a mistake on my website or the tutorial?

    Cheers,

No, the grammar is fine. But when I copied and pasted the snippet of code into my editor, it didn’t paste the same as you typed it so it didn’t work. I think the font made the wrong symbols or something. I just looked back at what you wrote and then retyped it. Then it worked.

So no, not really a mistake. But maybe having the facility to type code (rather than the rtf the website uses) would fix the problem. Does that make sense?

Your English is fine, no worries. As the web becomes more and more international we’re all having to learn to read things outside of our native tongues. So much more web content is not in English nowadays and I enjoy the challenge of deciphering it!

    It’s all code πŸ™‚

The disadvantage of using characters is that not all browser understand them. Whereas the support for entity numbers is very good.

    Cheers,
