I have been unsuccessful in creating a drop down menu using this theme. Here is what I have tried:
I went to Appearance->Menus, and created a menu. I added several items to that menu. Predictably, when I refreshed my page, several menu items showed up. Now, how do I make one of those menu items a drop down? I figured, perhaps if that menu item had a bunch of child pages, they would show up in the drop down. Nope, didn’t work – only the parent page showed up. I also tried adding a category as a menu item – but that didn’t work either. Only the category page showed up.
I also tried installing a drop down menu widget, but I saw that I couldn’t add the widget where the menu is supposed to be – and the widget didn’t work anyways even if I added it to some place else – like the header or something. So I went ahead and uninstalled it.
So, … any ideas?
In Appearance>Menus you should be able to create a child relationship (that is independent of the page child relationship)
Simply drag the menu items around in the box on the right side of the screen. If you drag and hold a menu item to the right….give it a little indent…. soon it should show an outline box where you can drop it indented. Indented items on this screen show as drop down items.
I hope that helps
Wow, that was quick! In the 30 mins I spent figuring this out, I looked at css, jquery, etc… and decided to just edit the code to create a nested . LoL.
Thanks a lot!
