    Hi. love the look of Pinboard and am slowly building my site but wondering if you can tell me how I can remove the page title from the top of my welcome page.
    My site is http://findyournaturalgroove.com/

    General settings (WordPress dashboard) > Reading

    You can choose front page from it.

    Perhaps you have to edit your menu and delete the link in your general menu in your dashboard wordpress and save -> to delete home in the menu bar.

    -> to delete home title on page
    simply leave blank the “title field” before saving your home page.
    Or
    try to hide in css class=entry-title
    add in your custom css
    .entry-title {
    display: none
    }

    will hide all your site titles

    Or add at the top of your home page only, this should work and delete the title on the home page only
    [style type="text/css" media="screen"]
    .entry-title {
    display: none
    }
    [/style]

    replace [ of course <

    Thank you both for your responses. I didn’t make myself clear in the first instance. I am happy for the page to be called “Welcome” on the navigation panel. What I don’t want is for the word “welcome” to appear at the top of actual page content. It looks strange saying

    Welcome

    Finding Your Natural Groove

    I hope you can understand my issue. I just want the page content to say

    Finding Your Natural Groove

    Many thanks

    Install this plugin and then you can manually edit page titles.

    Thanks Daniel. I have done that. Can you tell me what I need to do to remove the word welcome using this plug in. I am assuming its under titles and metas/post types but my lack of computer skill and css means I’m a bit stuck from here.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I DO love the theme!

    Open the page and under the editor you should have a meta box for SEO, the title from that box is what appears as the title of the page.

    I’m sorry but it doesn’t seem to work. I am using the Welcome page as my landing page. Does this make a difference with this plugin?

    Just to make sure I’m doing what you’re asking, the box under the editor has the following tabs: General/PageAnalysis/Advanced/Social. I’m in General and it’s showing headings of Snippet/Focus Keyword/SEO title/Meta Description. Does this sound right. If I change SEO title, it still doesn’t remove “Welcome” from the top of the page.

    Please bear with me. I am determined to make it work! πŸ™‚

    SEO Title is indeed what you need to change. If it’s not working try enabling the option “Force rewrite titles” under SEO > General.

    Daniel, I still can’t make it work. I’ve done what you suggested with “Force rewrite titles”. Below is what is showing on that “General” tab. But I still keep getting the “Welcome” at the top of the content of the page. I need “Welcome” on the navigation/menu panel but just don’t want the word on the actual page itself at the top of the content above the photo.

    Daniel, if you mean the title “Welcome” I don’t want that at the top of the content of the page. This is what I am trying to remove. It needs to be on the navigation bar but I don’t want the first word of the page content to be Welcome as it is now. I want it to say “Finding Your Natural Groove” without the word Welcome above it. It looks odd. This is what is showing on my admin version anyway.

    It’s the same on my about page. The first word on the page is “about” when I’d rather it was not there and I could just get on with the story.

    Cheers

    I understand now. I’m sorry but I was thinking of something completely different previously.

    You need to add this to your custom styles:

    .page-id-163 .entry-title {
    	display: none;
    }

    Daniel, You’re not going to believe this. I got it to work! I am thrilled! Thank you very much for your patience.
    I am sorry to say that I don’t think this is the last time you will be hearing from me but for now all is great!
    Cheers and thanks again
