Main images linked to text

Hi,

I would like to have each of the four main images linked to a page of text without showing the image (as what happens when you set the post as a featured image). Unless I am misunderstanding something, I tried this using a tutorial that described how to exclude posts from the main page using a plugin, but this didn’t do the trick for me.

If someone could please help me with this dilemma, I would greatly appreciate it! I hope this is clear…
