I need to know how:
1- can I make the slider show only on the home page?
2- to make it show on more than one page (pages of my choice)?
3- to make it show on all pages?
Can you give me instructions for the three different options please?
Thank you.
Daniel TaraKeymasterThe slider displays automatically on the front page, blog pages and pages using the landing page template. There’s no way to manually select where to display it.
LisaAzureParticipantHi Daniel
Please can you assist, my slider is not showing up on my home page (About Us) but is showing up on my Specials Page (blog page). Under customise template I have selected the About Us to be home page and Specials to be the blog page. I have also checked the box – Display a slider of sticky posts on the front page.I also have another issue – my sidebar is not automatically adjusting. I have chosen the content / Sidebar layout for most pages with 3 content columns under layout.
The site I’m working on is – http://www.moreprinting.co.za/
I am fairly new to wordpress and pinboard. My history is html website design with minor CSS, so I am finding this all a little hectic at present.
I would be really appreciative, if you could let me know how to sort these two issues out.
Thanks
LisaDaniel TaraKeymasterTo display the silder on the front page, use the “Landing Page” template for the About Us page.
Under Appearance > Theme Options > Layout choose the Content / Sidebar layout instead of the Content / Sidebar Half layout. This way your sidebar won’t go under the content.
LisaAzureParticipantThanks Daniel – The Landing Page worked, really appreciate the help. I am assuming that by choosing the landing page layout, I wouldn’t be able to have any posts on this page… would I be correct in assuming that?
With regards to my other issue, the Content / Sidebar layout is already the chosen layout. Got any other ideas to fix this?
roberto.orsoParticipantHi,
I am trying to make some test with the slider for my website http://www.bfreecocktailbar.com but I don’t understand what is going wrong.
On this page: http://www.bfreecocktailbar.com/bsocial/ I have created a page with landing page template. I have an article signed as stick, but the page doesn’t show anything. If i look to the code I can see that the slider is called:
ul class=”slides”>
Can anyone help me?
roberto.orsoParticipantit seems a problem related to CSS but I don’t know where. Now that I put 2 articles, I can see the browse buttone on the right
AlexanderParticipantHi roberto.orso,
I wrote a step-by-step tutorial to make the slider work.
http://www.mouseclick.com/tutorials-2/make-the-slider-work/
And Daniel explained previously how to add the slider to pages.
Cheers,
Alexander @ http://www.mouseclick.comLisaAzureParticipantHi Daniel and Alexander
I found the solution to my sidebar issue. I had the content / sidebar selected under layout, but I also had it selected under the pages section. So I have now selected the default template, which has corrected everything.
Thanks for your input
LisaasomiParticipantHi Guys, Please can someone help me. I’ve set the sliders/template according to instructions (I think). However, on the homepage, http://www.ewabelle.com/ the home title and content still shows. How do I remove this? Thank you.
AlexanderParticipant@asomi: Please don’t hijack others people thread. Instead start your own. What is it that you want to remove? The content of the slider??
Cheers,
Alexander @ http://www.mouseclick.comasomiParticipantI’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hijack the thread. The question stems from setting the sliders that’s why I posted it here.
My question is that, on my homepage – http://www.ewabelle.com the home title for the page and content box shows. How do I remove it? Thank you.
