    After updating to wordpress 4.1 there is an issue when using your free Pinboard theme.
    If the wide widget beneath the header is active the sticky posts showing in there will now completely cover the drop down menus. If enough sub menus are added they will eventually show, underneath the wide widget. This was not the case before the update of wordpress. How can I adjust the free pinboard theme to counteract this, or, will there be an update of the theme to fix this issue?

    I found this thread, where the exact same issue was described. However, the solution mentioned unfortunately does not help.

    The issue has been resolved in Pinboard version 1.1.12

    Unfortunately, the update to Pinboard (free) 1.1.12 did not remedy this. However, adding this code:

    #access {
    position:relative;
    z-index:9999;
    }

    in the box Custom CSS (which is located in Appearance -> Theme Options -> Layout) fixes the issue (both in Free Pinboard 1.1.10 and 1.1.12).
