ParticipantVia wordpress, I have entered tagline text in appearance > themes > manage themes > customize > site title & tagline. Site title shows up fine, but not the tagline. The only widget currently activated for the header area is search. I already deleted and re-installed pinboard to try to get the tagline back.
What do I need to do to get the tagline to appear along with the title? Website is beccasattic.com. Thanks for any help!

ParticipantHi teranina,
Try to switch it on, resp. switch the header image off, in the theme options where you upload a header image.

ParticipantHi Alexander,
Thanks for the quick reply. I went to appearance, then header (where it says “custom header” at the top. This is where one can upload header images. (I went to “theme options” as well and glanced under all the tabs but could not find any spot there which would allow a header image upload.) The only thing to switch that appears on this page is a check box marked “Show header text with your image.” So I unchecked it, hit save, then checked it again and saved again. Title shows up, but still without tagline. I cleared cache and cookies for good measure. No luck. Anything else for me to try?
Thanks!

ParticipantI just noticed that the tagline can also be edited under Settings, General. The tagline text is also appearing there in the field marked “Tagline.”

ParticipantYay I figured it out. I had search widget in the header. Once I removed it the tagline appears.

ParticipantYes, in many cases the problem sits in front of the computer… π
Glad you’re sorted.

ParticipantDoes this mean you can only choose 1 stuff you want to put in header?
1)tag line
2)Search bar
3)header widget
4)Ads banner
5)Social IconsIf you choose to display anyone of these, the rest cannot be displayed.
My goal is to put everything except the search bar.

ParticipantThe only thing to put in the Header widget is an ads banner: “Displays in the header. Intended exclusively for displaying ads of standard dimentions.”
If you leave the Header widget blank, you’ll still see the blog’s title, tag line, social icons and search.
I had the same problem, missing tagline, until I removed the Search widget from Header. Suddenly, everything worked. π
