ParticipantThe PayPal cash transfer limit refers to the maximum amount of money you can send or receive using PayPal for cash-related transactions. This includes sending money to friends or family, withdrawing funds to your linked bank account, or transferring cash using PayPal’s “Cash a Check” or “Add Cash” features. These limits vary based on account verification, account type, country, and transaction method.
For unverified users, PayPal imposes strict cash transfer limits—often just a few hundred dollars. To increase these limits, users must verify their identity by linking a bank account, credit or debit card, and submitting personal information such as proof of identity and address.
Once verified, users can send up to $10,000 per transaction for personal transfers, and even more in some cases. When transferring cash to a bank account, the standard limit is $25,000 per transaction, while instant transfers are usually capped at $5,000 per transaction.
For PayPal’s cash features, such as adding cash at retail locations or cashing checks, daily and monthly limits also apply. These are typically in the range of $500–$5,000, depending on user history and verification.
You can view your personal cash transfer limits under the “Wallet” or “Account Settings” section of your PayPal account.
