    Hi everybody,

I’m supporting this theme with my input for quite some time now. And even though I’m not with Pinboard any more I try to help people. I understand the wish to have something unique and outstanding. The need for individualism is an important value in our society. And almost everything can be done, one or the other way – if not within the theme than maybe by tweaking the WordPress core functions. Yes, it’s possible, but not reasonable!

Every theme has a general layout and design. Thats what makes it, thats what the designer wanted and thats the beauty of it! And at least thats why people are choosing it. So don’t ask for changes that are obvious not matching with the actual layout or design of the theme like “How can I move the header to the footer” or “I want the nav bar under the featured posts”. The theme is simply not intended to do that. Neither is the support forum.

If you need something complete contrary to the design concept and you’re not able to implement it by yourself than please at least: don’t blame on the theme. Instead think twice if your request is reasonable and matching the actual layout and design of the theme.

    Cheers,
    Alexander @ http://www.mouseclick.com

Sounds fair, maybe those kinds of questions can be pushed into a “Wouldnt it be nice if…” WIBNI section for the developers to look at for ideas for future themes?

    Alexander,

Thank you for all your support and the great tutorials you’ve written to help people get the most out of this theme. I read this forum regularly, just to see what others are doing (or trying to do) with the Pinboard theme. I imagine it might be frustrating for both you and Dan that people make the same requests/inquiries over and over. Is it possible to create a sticky post in this forum that always appears at the top and links to the posts that walk people through common problems? With a little bit of curation, that could severely cut down on redundant requests. Additionally, you could list some group norms (like your post above about the scope and intent of the theme and support forum).

So, can we make this happen? If the functionality is there to make a sticky post, I’d be willing to create a preliminary list of the best threads.
