I find that these things do not display by default on the front page. Things that are links in the actual article are not links on the front page. If I make a post that has no text other than the title and just an embedded youtube then it appears on the front page like a blank post with just a “read more” link. Similarly links are not links on the front the page, they only become links when click “read more” for the full article. My blog has a lot of short posts like “Some random headline” and hten the body just says “Check out this link for more,” that kind of thing so it would be great if users could just see that all on the front page. Similar if I do a post that only contains a youtube is it possible ot show a thumbnail of the youtube or something like that?
Thanks.
That’s because the front pagse display the post excerpt instead of content.
If you want to change it, this post and this postmay help you.
Hi Daniel, I am not finding that it’s using the excerpt field. It seems to be using just the first few sentences of the main post. Is this a setting somewhere?
Thanks.
It’s not a conventional excerpt field, it’s trimmed by a function. The posts above explain which one it is.
