    Hi, I’m really frustrated here.

    I know minimatica is supposed to be ‘minimal’ but I would like to have a background image on the site. However, once done, it’s almost impossible to read any posts due to the transparency settings.

    I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHANGE THIS! I would love to change the transparency behind a post to #000000 with about a .5 opacity, but I don’t know how to do so. I have tried everything, and looked (I think) just about everywhere searching for an answer. Please help! I’m not interested in changing anything to do with the slider page, just the post page.

    Webpage is here: http://www.austinamusic.com – please note it’s a WIP and not really ready for all eyes yet lol.

    I should mention on the “Welcome” page, I’ve used a .png to show pretty much what I want, except behind the menus and featured image too.

    The problem is the background is very distracting. Try to desaturate it a bit. Also, in the center image try to make it fade to #FFF instead of #000 you may find it more pleasing.

    @Austin, how’d you accomplish the transparent black block over your photo to make it more legible? Your site looks awesome – II would never guess it was wordpress!

    I am actually trying to do the exact same thing and your site looks great. Can you please describe how you did this?

    Hey guys, this is Austin’s designer. I wasn’t able to manipulate the code to do what I wanted, so I actually made a background image that gave me the transparency that I needed. I’m attaching the link to that image here, so you can use it as a template if you want. I had to make the transparent block a size that wouldn’t allow it to show above the “image” bar. I also made the image at the bottom fade to black so the black box wouldn’t look out of place. I hope this helps! If you need, I’ll upload a .psd of just the black box so that you can use it on your own sites. Otherwise, use this as a template. πŸ™‚ Happy designing! http://www.austinamusic.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/forestblue1.jpg

    I actually figured that out last night after looking at your site a bit longer. I was actually able to figure it out by installing the Live CSS pluggin with the following CSS:

    #container {
    padding:15px 15px;
    background:#151515;
    color:#FFF ;
    opacity:.8;
    -moz-border-radius: 15px;
    border-radius: 15px;
    }
