Is there a way to prevent posts from appearing in the slider? I’d like to use my slider as a gallery, so there are some things I put in my blog that I don’t want to show up there

    Love the theme!

Only posts that are marked as stickies will show in your slider. If you’re showing more than you have chosen you need to empty your trash bin.
If you don’t empty your trash bin, your slider for some reason finds them and displays them.

How do you mark a post as sticky in newest WordPress release? I’m not seeing it in post editor at all.

The easiest way is to go to “Quick Edit” and the option is the furthest to the right side.

Cool. And how would I tell the slider that I only want sticky posts to show up in it? I know a little PHP, so you can tell me code and file.

I should add, I made the ones I wanted to show up sticky and they’re still all showing up. I also checked my trash.

Minimatica may be different to to the one I’m using “Esplanade”. It maybe that it only shows latest posts in which case I’m not sure what you can do.
Try the tutorials on this site as they may have the answer there. Or click the Twitter button and ask Daniel directly.

Hi aimeedanger I just saw your website and noticed you have 2 menus. Can I know how you did that? I have a Minimatica theme also and it says in the settings that my theme only supports 1 menu. I don’t know why. Please help. Thanks!

Have you tried using a text widget to add another menu?
That’s one way to do it I think.
The alternative would mean editing the script which isn’t good unless you have experience. If you want to try that you would need to google say “WP add 2nd menu to style”
The owner of this site does not appear to be answering support so I would try the text widget idea.

Thanks woody for the reply. But I already did your sugestion and it does’nt look nice. See my website http://www.360virtualtourist.com
I only have one menu which is the home button. Then I added Text widgets to my footer are which are “About” ” Contact” & “Virtual Tours”
and since these text widgets are on the footer area, they appera in all my pages which should be only in the home page. I really don’t understand why I’m the only Minimatica theme user who have only one menu support. Everyone I’ve seen in these forum have lots of menus.

Ahhhhhhh! I think I understand you now. It’s not a second menu you want as such, but you want more titles in the menu that you have.
Do you mean you want this all showing in one place:

    Home About Contact Tours

    Like mine in Esplanade http://www.photo-restore.me.uk

Yes I want them to show in one place. They must be the same as the Home button menu.

Ok this has nothing to do with Minimatica.
    Try the following:

Go to Dashboard – Appearance – Menu,
Here you can start a new Menu or add to the one already there.
On the left you can see Pages & Catagories.
All you do is drag the ones you want up to the right in your new menu and then click save.
Then look top left for Primary menu, choose your new one, then save it. Now it will appear on your home page.

One more thing. If you want to create a drop down list like I have done, all you do whilst dragging a title to your menu, is position it slightly to the right and below the header you want it to go in. You will see the dotted lines offer you a place.

Always press the save button when finished.

Love the virtual tour thing, how the heck have you done that?

Wow you are a Genius! You finally solved my problem since 2 days ago. I have a lot of menus now πŸ™‚ thanks so much for replying. I’ve created topic about this messaged posted on different topics but you are the only one replied.
Thanks for appreciating my virtual tours! I basically take a series of photos and stitch it all together πŸ™‚ The virtual tours that are currently in my site are the first few tests. I will be uploading about 100 virtual tour panoramic photos in the coming week. You can visit it anytime.

Sheesh, Woody. I would’ve responded! You guys are just faster than me (in America, today is Mother’s Day, so I wasn’t planning on being online). Incidentally, I like your site! My only comment is that the bright blue text you have on some pages is very hard to read (low-contrast), especially for older audiences.
