While I like the flexibility offered by the sidebar functionality of the theme, some things are a chore to set up. For instance, is there a way to globally set the footer sidebars for every type of template? Generally I think most people would want the same footer on every template but darned if I can find a way to do that without setting up each template individually.

I’ve also noticed the admin areas run much slower than most (simpler) themes, which exacerbates the above issue.

I could add an option to override one or more sidebars for all templates and let the other sidebars be inherited by their specific template, but I don’t find it particularly intuitive or user friendly. Do you have a better suggestion?

What specific admin page is running slower? Do you mean the theme options pages or the post editor? Some tabs like Web Fonts call external APIs so loading them takes longer and there’s no way aroud this.

I would think the footer would be more often thought of as a “global” element, not template specific. So an option to select content for the footer and make it apply to all templates would do the trick.
I find all admin pages are rather slower than most themes I’ve tried.

The theme doesn’t hook into other admin pages than the theme’s own options pages and the post editor, so if all your pages are loading slow it’s likely due to another issue.
