    Dear Developers,

I have been having a great joy to build my new website using this wonderful theme, however I’d seek some assistance now with an issue I have faced with concerning the character encoding of the quote post type. On the blog page it shows the text like this. πŸ™‚

…but it is perfect when I download the entire blog post.

So far, it looks like the other post formats are working fine too. I’ve enabled the latest version of qTranslate plus because I plan to run a bilingual site with English being the base language and Hungarian is the second. This particular post also features a Hungarian version which is having the same problems but the other post types are working perfectly with both languages.

I’ve taken a look to try to replace the fonts for the blockquotes but when I saw that it is OK as a blog post, I gave up on it. πŸ™‚

[update] I’ve also installed the NextCellent Gallery plugin and its built-in compatibility check says: Missing the call to wp_head() in your theme, contact the theme author

    Many thanks for any feedback!

    Kind regards,

    Viktor

There’s a bug with the extraction of the quote that will be fixed in the next version.

A couple of days, maybe a week, we have some more issues to resolve before the next release.

    Hi Daniel,

I’ve upgraded to 1.09 but the issue still remains. The problem appears with Central European characters including Ñéűúőóüâí.

    I’d appreciate some suggestions! πŸ™‚

    Many thanks,

    Viktor

I can see it is. The error seems to be triggered by WordPress core filters. For some reason they convert certral european characters to eastern european characters (e.g. ä becomes â on output). I’ll have to dig deeper into the issue.

Finally I was able to get to the bottom of it. Issue was character encoding was converted from utf-8 to html-entities. A reverse-conversion on output solved it. You can download the version with the fix here.

    Dear Daniel,

Many thanks for your efforts. I’ve used the built-in theme updater to replace the theme with the new version but unfortunately it seems that the issue is still appears. I’m sorry to be annoying. πŸ™‚

    Kind regards,

    Viktor

This new version was just released, it’s not yet available to update via WP admin. You need to install it manually by downloading from the link above and uploading it to your server.
