Totally stupid question, I’m sure, but I just can’t find the right place to turn this off. I am building a website for my park and just want to be able to turn off “recent comments, categories, archives” that is showing in the top nav/header. Does anyone know where I can turn all of this off from displaying?

I think your question isn’t stupid, because I needed a lot of time to understand the basic functions of Pinboard and WordPress and I still struggle for getting some details fixed.
As for your question:
Go to the dashboard. In the left menu, click at appearance and then at widgets. On the widgets side (at right, above), you’ll find header. Open it and pull the content inside to one of the left boxes.
