MrsPumpkinParticipant
I’ve just come across and downloaded this fab theme as it seems to be providing all the things I need for a website. However, one thing that bugs me is the sidebar and how it isn’t surrounded by boxes as the rest of the columns. I can’t seem to figure out which piece of code correlates to this so that everything looks the same? Any help would be much appreciated!
And while I’m at it, is there an idiots guide to creating a portfolio because I can’t seem to figure it out >_<
Oh, and finally, I noticed on the demo there seems to be a gallery page, it shows 3 different images on the thumbnail – how do you get that to work? I can’t seem to do it!

Daniel TaraKeymasterEditing the sidebar the way you described is a complex task and requires more than editing just a few bits of code.
In Theme Options you can assign a Portfolio category and any posts you add in that category will appear in the portfolio and will be excluded from the main loop. Subcategories for the Portfolio category will appear as a filter before the content.
The gallery was created using the Gallery Shortcode.
MrsPumpkinParticipantSo there is no way to style the sidebar at all??
I created the gallery – it’s the showing on the thumbnail as you have on your demo that I’m asking about. The Post called Golden Spiral

MrsPumpkinParticipantI have it set as a gallery, but there is nothing showing.
Here is a screenshot
But I can’t style widgets – no borders, no colour changes???
Daniel TaraKeymasterYou need to have at least 3 images attached to the post besides assigning the gallery post format.
There are no built-in theme options to style the sidebar widgets.
MrsPumpkinParticipantDo you mean creating a gallery within the post? I’ve also done that – it’ got around 10 images in it.
Are there any CSS changes I can tweak to style the widgets at all? If yes, could you please point me in the direction, I’m happy to play about with the code!
Daniel TaraKeymasterMake sure the images in the gallery are actually attached to the post.
You can change the link color in sidebar widgets under Appearance > Theme Options > Typography. Other customizations can be added by adding manual code in Custom CSS. How to write that code is a topic that can be discussed here.
MrsPumpkinParticipantWhat do you mean by actually attached? I’ve inserted a gallery, the links from the pictures go to “attachment page” I’ve set a featured image, but nothing shows up…!
Daniel TaraKeymasterLook in the media library and if the images say (Unattached) in the “Uploaded to” acolumn attach them to gallery post.
MrsPumpkinParticipantFabulous! That was it! Thank you π
Just one final thing and then I am ready to go with this theme – is it possible to have a full width page for a post?
Thanks for your help so far π
Daniel TaraKeymasterOnly if you select full width as the general layout in Appearance > Layout.
