Hi,
I have been trying to use Pinboard on a couple of sites I’ve worked on. Both appear to have problems with Sticky posts – or, at least, they don’t work the way I’d think they would. I have the number of posts to show as 3 with Infinite Scroll turned off. So if I have three posts marked as “Sticky” and no more, shouldn’t those three show on the home page? But that’s not what happens – they show in chronological order (newest first) and appear to ignore the “sticky” marker. Any ideas?
Go to Appearance > Theme Options and disable the option “Display a slider of sticky posts on the front page”.
Huh. Well…that did work (so thank you for the suggestion!), but now it does not let me limit the number of posts shown on the home page (under Settings>Reading) to just three. It shows four or more no matter what I change the number to. So now it shows three sticky posts, in order, but then a fourth that’s not sticky.
Yes, that is the way WordPress handles sticky posts: it displays the sticky posts + the number of posts set under Settings > Reading and nothing can be done about it.
