Maybe a dumb question: what determines the theme width? My install is much narrower than the demo image. Wondering if it’s the header image, amount of content, column layout or what…
Thanks!
It depends on whether the sidebar contains widgets or not. Once you add some widgets to the sidebar it will expand full width.
OK, another related, possibly dumb question. I just added a post with a featured image in portrait orientation. When I made this sticky, the image on the slider was HUGE, like more than 1500 px. Which was odd since the image itself is Landscape images get cropped nicely though. What am I missing? The image itself was pretty low res, only 200 x 300. Does the cropping fail as the image stretches if the resolution is too low?
Thanks in advance!
I think it has to fill in the width, it’s 1140px large to be good.
Yeah, it’s just weird that it vertically crops images that are big enough but not ones that it has to expand to be wide enough. I’m assuming that’s the issue anyway.
did you try with a larger than 1140 px image ? just to see if it then crops ?
(because I think it resizes too small images to fit the width and then doesn’t care about the height)
