For reference the site I’m designing is here: http://www.projectilemagazine.com/
(1.) I want the grid images on the front page to have some kind of hover effect. I have no idea how to do this. How do I do it? A seemingly simple “darken” effect would suffice and make the site feel more responsive overall.
(2.) I don’t like the amount of space that is leftover above and below my logo in the header. How do I set it so that the top and bottom margins are smaller while retaining the search function?
(3.) My initial design concept was to have the entire header area be black with a centered logo (sans all of that space above and below it) while the rest of the page would be white. Is this possible? I dug through all of the css for a few hours today and am still lost. I understand that the body and the header areas follow the same color settings, I am looking to separate them.
I’m very much a beginner. I got stiffed paying someone else to do this so I’m diving in head first.
FYI, I am presently using a plugin to edit some of the CSS. This is a stop-gap measure until I can figure out how to implement this in a child-theme.I still need my questions answered.
I’m learning a lot today.
