I have followed your tutorial on how to build a homepage like yours, but couldn’t find how to make a nice image ‘move’ under my equivalent of your “Ready to try this Theme on your Website? It’s Free!” section.
I had a quick look in the source code and it said something about a ‘parallax’ but I’m none the wiser!
How can I set up this cool feature such that the text appears to flow over the image behind? It’s one of the main reasons I bought your theme!

Under Appearance > Theme Options > Sidebars you can edit the settings for each sidebar and add a background image with a parallax effect. The feature was introduced in version 1.1.0 just a couple days ago so the tutorial hasn’t yet been updated accordingly.
Enlightenment theme is free of charge, did you find it anywhere for sale?
Thanks Daniel – I’ll have a play with that tonight! Sorry, typo on my behalf, didn’t buy the theme, don’t worry. Actually chose it over some $60 themes because it looked just what we needed. Bit of a steep learning curve since the last time I did our WP site was in 2012 and things have moved on since then!
Talking of steep learning curves, just realised that your new version isn’t available yet on the WP Updater. Are you planning to add it soon, or am I better to rename the previous version folder via FTP and upload the new version and change to that theme? (I’m very cautious by nature!) What I don’t want to lose are all the lovely new sidebars I created for the homepage…
Every theme update on WordPress.org is added to a review queue before synchronizing with the theme directory. This update has already been submitted and awaiting review, you can find the ticket here.
Thanks Daniel, I do appreciate your help, and I am learning more about WP all the time. If I manually upload the update, will I lose anything created via your instructions for making a home page like yours, or am I being silly here? (After this question, I’ll leave you in peace!)
