I’m having an issue getting the slider to activate while using a static front page. The site is http://www.bobsfinishedbasements.com

I have created a couple sticky posts with images and they’re not being picked up. I’m not sure if that’s the correct method to use when using a static front page, some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

You have to make them sticky AND set the image as a feature image for them to show up on the slider.

Thanks for the response! I have done exactly that. It will show up if my main page is a recent posts page, but if I make it a static page, it goes away.

Try using the template “Landing Page” for your static front page.

Do you need to create a new post with the image actually in the post, or just as a featured image? I’m having the same issue and have my home page set with the “Landing Page” template.

Does the format I choose for the post make a difference?

The slider will always display sticky posts, whether on blog page or static front page. Posts with video post format will display the video instead of the image, all other post formats will display the same.

    Hi there,

Great theme. Trying it out on my wamp, but the above solution for using the landing page template for the page still does not display the slider on the home page.

    Any ideas?

Think I figured out why the slider wasn’t showing with the ‘landing page’ template and using a static page. I added this – below line 5 which is – ?>

Whoops, looks like it’s not letting me place code..

    Hi there,

Really like the theme, and I wanted to check to see if there was some resolution to the discussion here. I’m using the static front page setting. I’m also using the landing page template for that static page. No slider is appearing, even though I have sticky posts with featured images. When I change the setting to display most recent posts, the slider appears fine.

A solution without changing the theme code would be preferable, and Daniel’s response suggested there may be a way to do this. But my own experience and the responses following seem to indicate there’s an issue even with the settings as described above. Help very much appreciated.

@russs Hi, I can see visiting your website that you have managed to get the slider working with static page. Can you kindly share how did you do it?

To be honest at the moment I’m struggling to get the slider work, its not working for me either for “latest post” or “static page” as my homepage. I do not find anything anywhere that reads “Sticky”. Can the theme authors kindly help me with the slider set up?

    Thank you very much πŸ™‚

If you go to “All Posts” and quick edit the posts with the featured images, you’ll see a check box to make the post sticky.

Not even sure how you get the Slider to work?
Is the plugin installed or do I need to install a Slider plugin?
    Thanks

    I am new to WordPress

As many people asking the same question I wrote a tutorial how to get the slider to work:

    Hopefully it will help you.
