Archives and categories not generating.

Am developing a site locally with this site, so sadly cannot share a link, but am hoping you can help.

I have a multisite install with two blogs inside a main site. One blog is called “blogandnews” and features two different categories – “blog” and “news”.

I’ve set up two pages – each of which are supposed to display a list of posts from a specific category.

So for example the “blog” page would display a list of posts from the “blog” category.

I am using the “template-blog-full-width” template and have a few things that aren’t working properly.

Firstly, I don’t know how to edit the template to only display posts from the “blog” category – it currently shows ALL posts, from both the categories.

I also have a feeling the second problem is related to the first (above).

I have used a piece of code from the WordPress Codex that displays an archive dropdown menu and that displays fine, but when I click on one of the months (that is supposed to show a page with all the posts from a specific month) I just get a page without any content. It has the header and footer, but no posts.

From my (limited) knowledge, it doesn’t look like my install is archiving the posts in category or date format.

I love the template, but if I can’t display posts by category or date order then I don’t know what to do.

I have my fingers crossed someone out there can help.
